Managed Eco-Tourism the Vision

Engaging with the local communities through art can teach people about conservation

Strong desires can emerge from eco-tourism and first-hand observations of wildlife. It can lead to greater emotional connections and assist in conservation management schemes and supporting communities financially.

Managed eco- tourism can ensure that the ecological system does not deteriorate further. However, it can also negatively impact wildlife. Irresponsible primate watching can reduce breeding capability of primates through interference leading to low birthrate in some species.

Eco tourism generates much needed finance and increases employment opportunities for local communities. Locals are employed as trackers, porters, and also create local art and handicrafts to sell to tourists. This can help alleviate engagement in unethical practices to generate income such as illegal wildlife trafficking and poaching.
